Amos Tamam

Amos Tamam has to be considered a genius for his idea that revolutionized the taxi industry. He is the brain behind the electronic credit/debit system you see in taxi cabs today! His invention is (for now) only available in New York City and Philadelphia.

Amos Tamam is from Israel, he has been in America since the early 1980's. He obtained a degree in electrical engineering while attending college there, this in turn lead to his successful venture with Verifone Transportation Systems, Inc. His idea shows that with persistence and determination, the things that seem a bit far fetched and impossible really aren't.

With wireless technology now available in taxis, drivers are safer and riders don't have to scramble for physical money. Riders are also able to watch advertisements, and obtain travel information while in route to their destination.

Even if the world never knows Amos Tamam by name his invention will never be forgotten. Eventually this machine will be available in all taxis. Its only a matter of time before your cab driver asks you, "will that be credit or debit".
